THE EFFECT MORINGA SEED INTO PURIFICATION WATER

ABSTRACT :In the city, people consume water contamination domestic waste. This is because clean water is expensive. Moringa seeds use to purification water with traditional method. This can be applicated with seimple method. Moringa seed can purification waste water and neutralize E. Coli bacteri in the water. Moringa seeds is traditional method to purification water.

            Water is important source to support mankind to life in the earth. People are usually use water for daily living. It likes a bath, washing,  water vegetation or something else. Human is consume water for dringking and cooking. For consume human must use clean water, because clean water is health. “clean water is water use for daily activity which quality of water qualify for health and can drink if it has been cooked.” (regulation of health minister  number 416 year 1990)

            People use water everyday. Water used from spring and groun water. In the city, people used water river to cooking and dringking. Water used in the city have colour more yellow, not clear. Surely water river in the city is not clean water. Water was contaminated waste. Clean water in the city is expensive thing. The marginal have not able to buy clean water in the city.

            People used water river and any contaminated water to consume. It is dangerous. It have effect to healthly if uses long time. Domestic waste and heavy metals are mixed in this water river. They use water river because disable to buy clean water. The marginal must have a way to to proces water in to clean water. It is call purification. Long ago, traditional way to clean water is mixed water with moringa oleifera seeds. We can use this local wisdom to make alternative way to solve this problem.

Many Moringa tree grown in Indonesia. Moringa tree can grown up until 11 meters. Many local name for this vegetation. People plant moringa tree because leaf can be eat and smell from flower make fragrance. This tree have triagle seeds, moringa seeds can filter water if moringa seed process become powder. “Moringa seed contain activ substance can absorb and neutralize particle in the water waste.” (Evika Sandi, Eni Yulianti. Research from Gajah Mada University, moringa seed can used for sedimentary particle of water waste and anti bacteria, because the powder can clean 90% E.Coli one liter river water on 20 minute.

2.        Water

Water used for support human life. People usually consume water for drink, cook, and bath. The marginal in the city use river water to consume. This water was contaminate with domestic waste and heavy metals.

Human must have clean water to standart life. Because clean water make effect in to health and human activity.  “clean water is water use for daily activity which quality of water qualify for health and can drink if it has been cooked.” (regulation of health minister  number 416 year 1990)

3.        Purification

Moringa seed have coagulant function can bond waste particle. the particle can be neutralize. Anti bacterial subtance in the moringa seed can clean water from E.Coli. Water purification with Moringa seeds (Moringa oleifera) can be said to purify water with chemicals, because the collision delicate moringa seeds can cause clumps (coagulant) on impurities contained in the water. a.       Prepare waste water

b.      Attenuate moringa seed become powder

c.       Put moringa powder into waste water, wait 5 minute. Sedimentary was show in water.

d.      Wait 3 hour, Sedimentary on bottom waste water was united

e.       After 3 hour, water show different. In top is clean water, but inte bottom is waste.

The seed contain significant quantities of a series of low molecularweight, water-soluble proteins which, in solution, carry an overall positive charge. The proteins are considered to act similarly to synthetic, positively charged polymer coagulants. When added to raw water the proteins bind to the predominantly negatively charged particulates that make raw waters turbid (silt, clay, bacteria etc.). This table discribe about effect moringa powder mixed into waste water. Moringa effect to reduction waste water. This effect have different effect to other acid degree.

Moringa oleifera seed have been shown to be a potential substitute for chemicals used in water treatment. In this study, turbidity reduction was one of the best out – put where the level of suspended particles including bacteria (flocculates) was drastically reduced. Consequently, this method might reduce water borne diseases. Conclusion

Moringa seed can be neutralize water  waste because koagulasi function make effect to waste particle. Waste in the water was split by moringa powder. E.Coli in the water was clean by moringa powder. Moringa seed is simple method to purification water. It is useful for marginal in the city. To incriease quality of water.
